Family Day at the Beach

Jason has one more week off work, so we are trying to make the most of it.  We considered going somewhere but decided that a hotel with two kids (one being a newborn) is really a vacation.  Instead we are doing things around here.  This week is unseasonably warm so Monday we headed to Santa Cruz.  We normally go to a beach right in Santa Cruz but decided since Ollie was asleep to explore a new beach a little south in Capitola.  When it is 98 degrees where we live Santa Cruz hangs out at about 85 to 88 degrees, with a slight ocean breeze.  It was a perfect day.  Ollie isn't a big fan of the water, in fact he is a total wuss :)  He would run away as the waves came up.  But we decided we like him being overly cautious rather than overly adventurous, makes our lives a little easier.  Here are some pictures.  The first couple I should have included in the last post but they were too cute to not put up.

Ollie playing with his new drum, flash light and screwdriver.

I am obsessed with this picture of Ollie and his cousin Ezra.  Seriously, how cute are they??

Me and Ollie playing in the sand.

Max relaxed in the shade.

Ollie and I found a star fish.  After we put it back in the water Ollie kept wanting it to come back.

He actually wore his hat for an extended amount of time...I was so happy.

Reading a triathlon magazine with Dad.

Me and Ollie.

Ollie doing some stretches on the beach.

He did get wet in a little water that had pooled up.  He kept telling us he was "freezing" so he got to wear daddy's shirt.
I just can't get enough of this little guy.

What a great day! That picture of Ollie and Ezra is precious. Max looked like he enjoyed himself, too.

Yay! I'm glad you're able to take advantage of having your husband home and having good weather. Way to rock it newborn style!
