Thanksgiving in PA

We had an awesome Thanksgiving. We were lucky enough to go back to Pennsylvania to see my Mom's side of the family. She has 8 brothers and sisters. We used to go back to PA every summer when I was growing up so we have stayed very close with everyone. Jason and I have been back twice since we have been dating/married, but this time we got to be there at the same time as my whole family. Saturday we watched my cousin Nathaniel play football for his high school. He is the quarterback and he did awesome, they won 34-7!! Every Sunday my Grandma has the whole family over for dinner which is one of my favorite traditions. Monday we went with my Dad, brother and little sister to Gettysburg. I have been to Gettysburg many times because my Dad is a huge history buff, but Jason had never been so I figured he should get some history in during our visit. You can buy a CD and drive around the city and someone narrates where everything happened. Tuesday was my birthday, my Mom and sisters and I went and got manicures, and did some shopping. On Wednesday (which was Jason and I's 4 year anniversary) we had my birthday dinner and everyone came over for cake and ice cream. Thursday was Thanksgiving obviously which was so good, I thought I was going to die, I ate soooo much, I could hardly breathe. Friday we took family pictures, then Jason and I had to drive to Pittsburgh to fly out. It was a wonderful trip and we can't wait to go back again.  Note: there are a lot of pictures on the post and this is only about 1/4 of the pictures I took, Jason is going to add an album to our website if you want to see the others, click here.

My Uncle Doug and Aunt Pam have chickens and Alyssa LOVED them, here is Lys and Letty

Lys convinced Leah to hide behind a chair with her, we are all pretty much putty in Alyssa's hands

Letty and I after church, this was one of the only days it snowed, but that doesn't mean that it wasn't freezing!

Letty and Lys eating the snow, they aren't really around snow very often so it was a big deal

Jason, I thought this was a cool little road, all of the battles basically happened in big open fields like the one to Jason's right, although while we were driving through town we could see bullet holes in a lot of the buildings

Pre-Birthday Dinner

Since we were going to be in Pennsylvania for my birthday, Jason made me a delicious dinner before we left. Jason's food is always soooo good (I think part of that is because food I don't cook always tastes so much better to me). Anyway, he made me chicken tiki marsala, which is an Indian dish. He got a little help from the Bombay House, they provided the yummy rice and garlic naan bread. It was so good and I thought he was so sweet to do that for me. And for my birthday he got me a gorgeous coach bag I have been wanting. He had very specific instructions on which one to get and he did a great job. He also got me the Josh Groban Christmas CD and the movie "Waking Ned Divine", if you haven't seen this movie you should, it's good. So my pre-birthday was very awesome, Jason always does a great job of making my birthday special. Oh and by the way I turned 25, AHHHHHH, a quarter of a century, I'm ancient, but on the bright side I can rent a car all by myself!

Nothing New

There really isn't anything new to report, life has been pretty busy. School has been extremely stressful for me, just trying to wrap things up in clinic, midterms, and the ever looming boards coming up. Jason just stays busy with school and work but he of course never seems stressed (we really balance each other out). We are getting ready to take off for a week to PA for Thanksgiving and I couldn't be more excited, I soooo need a break. I do have one picture to post for my parents, it is of me in my new apron they got me in Hawaii. I will get a picture of Jason in his Hawaii shorts soon. Anyway we hope everyone is doing well and I will have lots to post from our upcoming trip.

Weekend In Idaho

We have been meaning to go to Blackfoot Idaho to visit Jason's Grandparents ever since we got back from California, but have not had a chance until this weekend. We took our time getting up there on Friday, dropped our stuff off in Blackfoot then headed straight to Rexburg. For those of you who don't know I got my Associate degree from BYU-I back in 2002 (wow I am getting old) so it is always fun for me to go back and see how much things have changed there. We were lucky enough to see Jason's brother Mike before we went to dinner with some of my childhood friends who live in Rexburg. It was so fun to see them and it makes me wish we all lived closer. The rest of the weekend we just hung out with Jason's Grandparents, oh and we went and saw the Bee Movie (for those who don't know Jason's Dad is a beekeeper, so it was especially fun, and you can buy Miller's Honey in your local grocery store, if you live in Utah or Idaho).   It was very relaxing and just an overall nice weekend. We need to get up there more before we move!
Brendi and Kinlee
