Seattle and Portland

On Saturday Jason had a training in Portland for his Apple campus rep job, so we decided to make it a little vacation. We left on Wednesday and flew into Portland. We picked up our rental car and drove straight to Seattle. We got there in the early evening, so we hurried to the Moore theater because Regina Spektor was playing there and I wanted to see her, but her show was sold out. We waited in front of the theater hoping they would release tickets and eventually they did so we got to see her that night. She was really good! Thursday we went to the top of the Space Needle, rode the ferry to Bainbridge Island and walked around Pike Place Market. Seattle is a fun city and there were lots of other things we wanted to do, I guess we will have to go back. Thursday afternoon we headed back to Portland. It is about a 3 hour drive. We found our hotel which was a very nice 4 star hotel. Parking was a HUGE pain, I guess we take lots of free parking for granted here. That night we found a yummy Indian restaurant. Friday we went to the Portland temple, and the International Rose Garden. Then we ate at this fun Irish Pub we found. Jason had his training all day Saturday so I went to a coffee shop and took advantage of the free Wi-Fi, then did some shopping. We had a really nice time and I am sad to be back because I have to go back to school tomorrow and Jason leaves for Cupertino on Saturday, that is going to be horrible. I am really dreading it.

I loved the fresh flowers.
Jason with some honey, I'm sure it isn't as good as Millers!!
I love fresh seafood, it was cool to see these big fish getting thrown around.

At the top of the Space Needle.
Me enjoying some Starbucks hot chocolate from the top of the space needle, we found out there are 337 Starbucks in Downtown Seattle!
They had these cool interactive stations at the top, Jason was quite entertained!

I love fresh produce, I really wish we had a good farmers market here.

This guy had a ferret, it was kinda gross that he put it on my head for the picture.
Us in front of the gum wall, that is gum all over the wall.
Me in front of the original Starbucks, it was opened in 1971.
This is me in front of Meredith Grey's house from Grey's Anatomy, this is where the interns live, and we met the lady who really lives there, she was cool and told us all about the show and how they filmed parts there.
Here we are at the yummy Indian restaurant.

Tandem Bike

Once or twice a year Jason and I rent a tandem bike for the day. It is really fun. We have a nice trail here that runs along the Provo River so Friday we rode the bike about 20 miles on the trail. We usually rent the bike for 24 hours so we took it out again Saturday morning but our ride was much shorter since we were both pretty sore.

Now for a quick update on our lives: I finished my finals on Wednesday so I am REALLY enjoying my two week break between trimesters. I have been able to read a lot (books that aren't textbooks) which has been really great for me since it has been awhile since I have been able to read a book of my choice. I am currently readying Twilight by Stephanie Meyer which I am LOVING, I am half way through the 500 page book and it has been less than 24 hours. Jason is gearing up for finals, they start at the end of this week. Hopefully he can get one done this weekend so he only has one test left for next week. We leave next Wed for Portland for 5 days which I am totally stoked about. Then our sad goodbye, lets not talk about it.
Jason and I on the bike.
This tree branch fell seriously like 2 seconds after we came out of the tunnel, we heard it crack and when we looked back it had fallen. I told Jason there is a good reason I make us wear helmets!!
It has been such nice weather we just love getting out!
Ok this picture is for my Dad. On Sunday we had the Keele's over for dinner. Jenny plays for the BYU womens basketball team and Eddie played BYU football. My Dad is a big BYU fan, and this picture is funny cause I am sooooo short next to them!

Unfortunatley, I will not be able to join him (in Cupertino California) until middle of July because of school, but we will try to to stay busy for the two and a half months we will be apart. Conference Weekend

We have had a busy house this weekend. Jason's mom is in town as well as my cousin Chad and his friend Matt. Friday night we went up to the University of Utah and saw the dance performance "Shut Up and Dance" with Jan, Jenny and Jeff. It was very good!! Saturday we went up and visited Jason's grandma in the hospital, she had a knee replacement. Jason went to the Priesthood session of conference with his grandpa. After that we all went out to Macaroni Grill for dinner. Sunday we had everyone over for lunch and to watch the second session conference. Then we went up and flew Jeff's really big kites at Rock Creek Park. Then back to our place for dessert and games.
Everyone enthusiastically watching conference.
Me trying to manuever the kite.
Jeff was a really good, patient teacher.
The kite I was flying here was so big it would almost pick us up off the ground.
