Scary Halloween Fingers

This is a recipe I got from my Mom. I made it for a church thing and I have had some people ask me about the recipe so I thought I would post it that way I can just give them my blog address and they can write it down.

Scary Halloween Fingers

Pretzel rods
1 cup peanut butter
1 cup light corn syrup
1 1/4 cup powdered milk
1 1/4 cup powdered sugar
almonds (sliced)

Wrap dough around pretzel. Put almonds on for fingernails.

Our Weekend

Friday night we had dinner with the Evers...sort of. We love Bajios and they love Cafe Rio. So they went and got food at Cafe Rio and we went and got food at Bajios, then we came back and ate it together. Ours was sooooo much better :) On Saturday Jason was suppose to fly down to Arizona for a meeting/training for his Apple campus rep job. He went to the airport early Saturday morning, sat on the plane for an hour while they worked on mechanical difficulties and finally deboarded the plane because they couldn't fix the problem. He waited for a few hours and realized he was going to miss his meeting, so he came home. He was excited about the meeting because he was going to get to meet people that he works with but has never met, so he was disappointed he couldn't make it. Instead we drove up the canyon and walked around the Sundance resort. It is so beautiful up there. That night Jason cooked up a rainbow trout that Jenny's (Jason's sister) boyfriend Jeff caught for us. I included a picture because it was a beautiful presentation. Saturday night we went to Ozz and played pool with the Henrys. It was really fun. Basically Ashly and I were really good and the boys needed some work :) Sunday night we had my friend Shelley from school and her husband over for dinner.

Jason's masterpiece. Herb stuffed rainbow trout on a bed of caramelized onions topped with a shallot butter and wine sauce...It was ok.

Girls Weekend 2006!!!!

This weekend was the highly anticipated (for me at least) girls weekend. Five of my very best friends (including my sister) got together in Provo. We all grew up together in California and now we are scattered around with three of us married, one engaged, one moving to D.C., and 2 have children, and while we keep in touch really well it was so fun to hang out together for the whole weekend. We didn't do a whole lot, but it was still so awesome. Props to Jason and all the other husbands for being such good sports. I can't wait for Girls Weekend 2007!!!!

October 15th

Jason's sister Jenny had surgery on Tuesday (she tore her ACL), so on Friday night we went over and Jenny's boyfriend Jeff made dinner. I had been kinda sick so Jen and I just relaxed and the boys took care of us. On Saturday night our ward had their fall social, so I put up some pictures from that. Stayed tuned...next weekend is our girls weekend, with 6 of my closest girlfriends coming to visit, so there will be many pictures from our weekend together.

Fall in Utah`

One thing I really love about Utah is the seasons. Each season is very distinct. Right now is fall, and it is sooooo beautiful. Jack and my cousin Chad drove out here for our church's semi-annual general conference. Jack's friend Marni came down from Idaho as well, so we have had a full house. This afternoon me, Jason, Jack and Marni drove up Provo canyon to see all the pretty colors. Here are some pictures we took. My mom always told me not to take pictures with no one in them because they are boring, but the colors were so pretty and vibrant that there are some with no people...sorry.

Back to School

So this week Jason and I started back to school. Jason is beginning his Masters of Information Systems degree at BYU, and I just started my bachelors in dental hygiene at Utah College of Dental Hygiene. Even though we have had breaks and semesters off throughout our education, it feels like we have been in school FOREVER!! I am at the point where when people tell me that I will miss school when I'm done, I don't believe them. But education is very important to both of us and I am glad we have a chance to pursue the fields we are interested in. So...that being said, we can hopefully make it through another two years. We will both graduate in April/May 2008, and while it seems like that date is forever away, and I can't wait for it to come, I know that we will look back on these times and think about how carefree our lives were. Alright, I'm done with my litte rant about school. Hopefully we will do something fun this weekend so I can post some pictures next week.

Camping

This last weekend we went camping with our friends Dan and Ashley. We hiked up Bells Canyon and found a perfect little campsite on a stream (I don't think you are really suppose to camp off this trail, but we are all pretty rebellious so we went for it). Although by the looks of our backpacks it seems we went camping for a week, we only spent one night up there. We had a great time. On Saturday morning we hiked up to a waterfall, which was beautiful. We had a great time and hope to be able to camp one more time before the weather turns cold!

Home Sweet Home

So we drove home to California last week to get one last visit in before we both start school. We had a great time visiting family and friends. We also got to go to the open house for the Sacramento Temple. It was beautiful. We really enjoy our visits to California, the weather is wonderful, the company is great, the only thing I hate is the 10 hour drive across Nevada to get there!!!!
