I dont know if you're interested or not, but if you keep a non-private blog and update it with a link to your private blog each time you post, then those of us who keep up with blogs with feeds can still follow you guys. Otherwise I barely ever remember to check in on private blogs. Just a suggestion that has worked for my other friends with private blogs.
