Jason's trip home

So Jason was home for the weekend and it was so great to see him. Life felt normal while he was here. He got in late Tuesday night, spent the night in Salt Lake and then did his 'Phase 1' testing for the FBI Wednesday morning. He thinks it went pretty well, we find out in about a month whether or not he can move on to the next phase of testing. This test was to see if he would be a good fit for the FBI, if he doesn't pass, maybe it is a sign. I met him Wednesday afternoon (I skipped my last class I was so excited). Thursday he came to my school to have a filling done and guess who gave him his injection....ME!!!! It was so fun (for me, maybe not so much for Jason). Friday we went running (Jason) and rollerblading (me), and then went and saw Shrek the third, it was cute. That night we played games with Jeff, Kelly, Jack and Anna (Kelly's sister). Saturday we played tennis with our friends Jeff and Shelley, they totally beat us, but it was still really fun. Sunday we had a BBQ (kinda like last week). Today Jason and I went to the new IKEA and got a duvet. We had never been to IKEA, but we had fun and I can see myself spending lots of money there in the future. Then we walked around the gateway in Salt Lake and did some more shopping. Now he is heading back to San Jose. It was so great to have him home, I never wanted him to leave! I will be visiting him there in about 2 1/2 weeks, I'm very excited.

Lazy Sunday

On Sunday we went to a park and had a BBQ with Jeff, Kelly and Elle. We made tin foil dinners. It was a great day, the weather was perfect and we just relaxed and played at the park. I love playing with Elle at the park, it is so fun. Jason will be back tomorrow and will be here until Monday I CANNOT wait!!!!! I will have a big update to post after he is gone.

Update

So Jason has officially gone to Apple and he is LOVING it. He saw Steve Jobs (the CEO of Apple) twice on his first day. He is assigned to a few projects all of which he is very excited about. His office is very close to some other BYU interns or recent grads so that is nice for him. He rides a bike 7 miles to and from work everyday, so thus far not having a car hasn't been a problem. He works very long hours (7:30am-7pm), but that is ok because he doesn't have much else to do, and he is making us lots of money! I look forward everyday to video chatting with him and hearing about all the cool things he is doing.

As for me, I am hanging in there just fine. I worked all day on Saturday after he left. Sunday I had multiple people invite me to dinner, which is very kind of everyone. Jack got here on Monday night and has been hanging out with me. He is taking a Spanish class this term at BYU, then in July he is going to Ecuador to work in an orphanage. It is really nice having him here. I miss Jason a ton, but he is coming home in two weeks so I have that to look forward to. Thanks to everyone for being so nice to me and for being so excited for Jason. More updates to come soon! Check out the other new post below.

Dental Hygiene

Last weekend some of my dental hygiene friends and I worked at a couple of National Guard camps and assisted with their dental screenings before they leave for Iraq. It was a really good experience. At school we are getting ready to do injections on each other. The other day we began practicing on hotdog. My teacher said that we could be practicing on each other as soon as next week. I am really scared/excited. He said the best shots we ever give will be in school because we are striving for perfection whereas you get a little lazy once you are out of school, so he assures us there is nothing to be afraid of (I'm not totally convinced!)

Farewell Dinner

Last night we went to dinner with our good friends Jeff and Kelly, and our new friends Anson and Amy. Jason leaves for Cupertino tomorrow, and the Gessels are moving to Seattle. We tried out a semi-new Indian restaurant, it was pretty good.

This has been a REALLY hard week for me, with today being the hardest, because Jason is leaving. I NEED and LOVE my husband very much and the thought of him being gone literally makes my little heart hurt. I know it is for the best and I am really excited for him but the anticipation of him leaving has been HORRIBLE. I cry a lot! I'll be ok though, I always make things seem so much worse than they are so when they happen, it isn't so bad. I don't do this on purpose, but I do it. But I do want to extend an invitation to anyone who wants to call or visit me anytime, I would love it. And I want to note that I am very excited for my brother to come here for the spring term at BYU, I know having him here will make this a lot easier. We are going to spend the night in Salt Lake tonight since Jason's flight leaves early tomorrow morning and I am assisting with dental screenings for soliders leaving for Iraq (I'll post some pictures) in Ogden tomorrow. Anyways here are some pictures from last night.

All of us.
Amy, Kelly and I, it took like 20 pictures to get one that we all deemed acceptable for the blog.
